NEW REGULATIONS

NEW REGULATIONS ARE LIKELY TO HAVE A COST EFFECT ON BUILDINGS

New building regulations contained in the SANS 10400 set of documents will have a cost effect on new building projects.
The basic intent of this new code is to protect rights of all people; condensed into 1) the right to be safe and 2) the right to an unaffected environment (or as close as possible) i.e. what you do on a building must not affect others – for e.g. buildings must be energy efficient.
How the result is achieved would depend on the rational design of the “competent person” with necessary expertise to do the design.
